"Marketing of tourist destinations in the framework of cooperation between the public and private sectors"
Mrs. Regina Ikonomovska, journalist, screenwriter, writer and promoter of the natural and cultural heritage of the Republic of Macedonia on 26. 11. 2015 year, have a lecture to the students of the Faculty of Tourism at the University of Tourism and Management in Skopje. She was speaking on the topic "Marketing of tourist destinations in cooperation between the public and private sector."
Over 90 minute presentation, Ms. Ikonomovska, with the students shared her experience of staying in the city of Sapporo Japanese island of Hokkaido as part of the JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), or Japanese International Cooperation Agency, aimed at promoting and stimulating international cooperation, and strengthen the healthy development of the Japanese economy and socio-economic development and economic stability of the developing regions (countries in transition).
In the presentation of Hokkaido, Ikonomovska emphasize the difference in the image of the island to the rest of the country. Contrary to traditional Japanese dancing, samurai, martial arts, geisha, sumo as the main theme in promoting Japan emphasizes modern technology, extreme forms of snow sports, fresh seafood and hot springs as a reason for the development of the tourism in the prefecture of Hokkaido.
Furthermore, through the promotional project for Hokkaido, Ikonomovska explain the utilization of the tourism of the island in a proper way, as another reason for attracting foreign tourists. By applying a comparative analysis throughout the presentation provided examples of similar tourism potential in the country and the possibility of utilizing the available potentials in a similar manner, starting volcanic tourism hortukulturni tourist attractions, categorization and management of the national parks, progressive and unique management the zoo, the color of nature tourism, urban tourism and film, agriculture and wine tourism. Specifically noted the introduction of a new model or a horizontal connection of the departments in the organization of the system, rather than vertical connection that is present in most countries.
In the promotional activities of Hokkaido, he stressed the need international presentation of the promotional films at international fairs or in cooperation with the competent authorities in the potential tourism markets.
For successful increase in the number of tourists, especially emphasized the inevitable collaboration between the private and public sector, highlighting the indirect support of the state in attracting domestic and foreign tourists shouting and neturstichkite activities by involving tue activities in tourist visits and excursions to some tourist destination.
